This is my first time doing water germination of venus flytrap (VFT) seeds. In the past, I have planted seeds in washed peat, since I thought it might be too much work to do the water germination first, and then pot them later. It is an extra step, but it seems like water germination is faster. These seeds started sprouting on Day 10. When I plant the seeds in pots, I have to wait until the sprout comes through the soil, and in my experience, that's usually around 3-4 weeks. My friend Stephen, who knows a lot about VFTs, recommended that I wait until roots and leaves form before potting in soil. He also pointed out that with water germination, it is much easier to plant them neatly in rows.
