Several years ago, I visited relatives in Boston. While looking for things to do in Cambridge, my family looked up local attractions to visit and learned there was a museum of natural history nearby. It was truly a hidden gem on a college campus. So much was packed into a relatively small building, and an unexpected surprise was the Ware Collection of Blaschka Glass Models of Plants, also referred to as the "Glass Flowers" collection at Harvard. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking out this exhibit - it is a room packed full of glass models of various plant species, including carnivorous plants! It was really impressive and I would love to visit it again the next time I'm in the area. These models were made by a father-son team over 100 years ago, in Germany - they are incredible and quite life-like. It is hard to believe they are made of glass!
